Nordea’s capital position meets EBA recommendations
On Wednesday 3 October, the European Banking Authority (EBA) published the results of its latest recapitalisation exercise.
According to the report, Nordea’s core tier one capital ratio amounted to 11.8% in June, up from 11.3% in December 2011. The tier one capital ratio increased to 12.9% from 12.3% in the same period.
Nordea’s core tier one capital ratio consequently exceeds the 9% level set by the EBA. The report also shows that Nordea has negligible exposure towards the economies in southern Europe.
