Nordea will be main intermediary of Government payment traffic in Finland
Nordea has been selected main intermediary of Government payment traffic in Finland. The contract is planned to be made for a period of five years. The Ministry of Finance decided to decentralise the payment traffic and selected Nordea as the main intermediary bank.
Last autumn, the Finnish Government arranged a competition for the services related to its payment traffic. These services include domestic, recurring and foreign payments, and the establishment and management of a group account for these payments.
The Ministry of Finance has today decided to decentralise the payment traffic of the Finnish Government. Nordea will act as the main intermediary. The objective is for Nordea to assume this responsibility as of the beginning of September 2002.
- We are satisfied to learn that our offer met the Government’s requirements. We believe that, in addition to a competitive price, the crucial factors were our competence, systems, and reliability. Nordea has already earlier proved to be a competent manager of the financial affairs of large customer concepts. We trust that we have good technical and functional possibilities to manage also the Government’s payment traffic, says Olli-Petteri Lehtinen, head of the Nordea Corporate Division in Finland.
